Steven and Deanna had to postpone their original Dana Point Yacht Club wedding and it worked out perfectly with the weather they had. Deanna began her day getting ready at the Ritz Carlton in Laguna Niguel. The groom met us at the hotel for a first look and photo with the bridal party. Choosing a beautiful location to get ready at not only is a great way to get beautiful images, but it is also a nice way to add variety to your wedding day.
After bridal party photos we headed to the venue to get ready for the ceremony. The DPYC has the best view of the beach and sailboats. After we made sure to take plenty of family photos as well as details. One thing I loved most about this wedding was that the timeline allowed for them to head to their cocktail hour and enjoy time with guests. It is rare this happens! However doing a first look gave them the opportunity to be among their friends and family for a while. If I give any advice for your timeline, it is to have plenty of buffer time. There will always be things to do or people to chat with.
I love that they incorporated some of their favorite things. They chose to go with a pie option instead of cake, and — it was tasty! They ended their evening dancing with their friends and family. This dance floor was packed! I always love seeing a packed dance floor! Usually some of my favorite photos from the reception are when the guests are enjoying themselves dancing.
