It’s been almost a month since Nathan and Alexandra said I do. This wedding is very special to me. This couple had their ceremony at the very same spot I married my husband 5 years ago.

The day started out with beautiful cloudy skies. The girls were in a near by cabin getting their hair and makeup done for the big event. When I arrived the girls were adding the finishing touches. There was a calmness in the room. Not every bride is calm, its understandable. Its a big day! Alexandra wasn’t just any bride. She spent her morning doing her own make up. Helping the girls with their makeup, and aiding in trimming the bridesmaids skirts (which a bridesmaid handmade!)

I love a wedding with cloud coverage. We had a few scares that we could possibly expect rain. I was told that there was some rain at the ceremony site, but it quickly vanished.

As the day went on the clouds fell perfectly in place. Tears of joy fell, much laughter happened and a beautiful beginning was established. I could go on about every little detail of the day, but what got me the most was the fact that so many friends and family came together to make Nathan and Alexandra’s wedding beautiful.

One of the many beautiful rings Alexandra wore was given to her by a bridesmaid. It wasn’t just any ring, it was a family heirloom passed down. Dakota, the brother of the bride sung as she walked down the isle. The grooms and his parents worked to clean up their back yard to transform it into the magical reception that it was. The vintage furniture was driven all the way from Colorado and donated for the evening.  So much time and energy goes into a wedding, yet its all worth it in the end!

If you are reading this and you were at the wedding let me know what your favorite part of the day was! Id love to hear! Or if you are just admiring this wedding i’d love to hear what you think!
