Roberto & Makayla

I always love meeting couples for their engagement sessions. It allows us to spend time to get to know one another and for my couples to become more comfortable not only in front of the camera, but with me. As much as I LOVE wedding days, theres something special about engagement sessions.

Roberto and Makayla chose the university  Roberto graduate from and Makayla is finishing her degree at. Currently these two are doing a long distance relationship while Roberto continues his education further out of state. I love when couples choose a location meaningful to them. I love hearing stories and learning more about how couples came to be. Our very first photo spot on campus kept us moving quickly as the sprinklers turned on just as we began. These two seemed like modeling pros because it didn’t phase them.

If you can’t already tell… these two love each other. They are such a joy and encouragement to be around. In our brief time together I felt like I made new friends. I loved hearing how their story began and seeing how well the complement one another.

As we were finishing up the session I asked about how Roberto proposed to Makayla. She continue to tell me the sweetest story about how Roberto flew home for her birthday without her knowing and arranged a scavenger hunt with special details to end only where it all began… The chapel at Concordia University. He surprised her by being at their school and proposed. I loved being able to capture them in the very spot they became engaged. They even brought along a bible with hand written notes gifted to Makayla.
